A year ago, we launched these pages with a simple purpose: to share your stories, celebrate your successes and give our growing community a place to see itself reflected. You welcomed us into your homes, your businesses and your lives. Because of you, Freeport Life has become something we’re proud to share each month — a paper that belongs to this community.
We knew Freeport had stories worth telling. What a joy it has been to discover just how many! Everyday heroes quietly making a difference. Business owners pouring their hearts into a dream. Students making us proud, leaders serving their neighbors and organizations finding new ways to help. Add in local sports, delicious dining and events that bring us together, and we’ve had a year full of reasons to smile.
Some of you call Freeport Life the “feel-good” or “happy” paper. We’ve taken that to heart. There is something special about opening your community paper and recognizing a neighbor, discovering a local business or learning about someone whose kindness deserves a little recognition. Those moments remind us how much good is happening right here at home.
Freeport Life is the newest of Life Media’s eight publications serving our region. Throughout our growth, our mission has remained the same: to deliver meaningful, informative and positive community stories directly to your mailbox. We’re also passionate about helping local businesses connect with the people who live here. When you tell us you visited a shop, tried a restaurant or called a business after seeing it in our pages, we’re reminded why those connections matter.
